Freedom from Fear

It may sound a weird thing to say, but lately I’ve noticed most people live in fear. Fear of what, usually nothing, other than what exists in our own minds and has been put there as propaganda. In the beginning of my life time it started with the Cold War as a brief memory, then the 1999/2000 computer melt down, then the threat of Terrorism, Global Economy melt down, to the next threat of Dec 2012. Mean while fuel prices escalate, along with food, corn and grain used for bio diesel instead of food in poorer nations, palm oil production decamating forests, working for 50 years to pay off a mortgage and not loose your home in the mean time.

There is usually a greater threat of dying in hospital from an incompetent medical system than from any of the above on a day to day basis. Then why are we told to fear. Maybe to stop us thinking about laws being passed through the system such as the following, to prevent us being afraid of our own goverments:

1798 John Adams Alien and Sedition acts Civil War

Abraham lincoln Suspended Habeus Corpus

WW1 Woodrow Wilson arrested 10,000 radicals and deported non residents

F.D Rosevelt 120,000 Jap-American residents arrested in internment camps

WW2 Eisonhower 10,000 comunists blacklisted and imprisoned

2001 US Patriot Act 2002 Homeland Security Act Military Commisions Act Which allows the US Government to declare citizens as enemy combatants and imprison them without trial

John Warner Defense Authorization Act Which declares the president with the power to declare a public emergency and station troops in any city within America without permission from local government

Swiss banks wont deal with US citizens. Banks have to designate the US government as a intermediary which which means they have to report information on US clients and withhold a percentage of interest, file tax forms with the IRS, register with secuties exchange commission.

California planning on taking DNA samples of everyone arrested within its borders Customs have the authority to confiscate, copy, analyze any laptop or data storage device brought across borders.

Laws such as these exist in every country under different names. Its just easier to find their names listed on American sites. Trying to find Australian versions are barely listed on the net, let alone the actual contents. Terrorism is now being used to break economies, the same way as wars have been raged over oil. Terrorism is the new form of warfare. No need to even pay, feed or arm the combatants, their in it for themselves. But if they really wanted to cause mass destruction all they would need to do is join the system and run it into the ground. Pitty our own governments are already doing it for them. Not that they are intentionally doing this, which is scary in itself.

The media and governments like creating fear in people because when people are in fear they remain docile, they dont want to question things and are willing to give up their personel freedoms in exchange for imaginary safety. The system is something we have become dependant on for a inexhaustable supply of running water, the internet, garbage disposal, long distance transportation, civil order, phone comunication, electricity, food delivery, etc.

Most of life’s emergencies can merely become inconveniences, if you learn how to supply them for yourself. No where is truely safe and the governments of the world cannot guarantee the well being of its citizens. Survivalism is not about staying alive , but choosing how to die. That can either be on your knees grovelling or standing tall with self respect in your soul. Those that run from death, also run from life.

There is only one place to find true safety and that is from within yourself. By learning how to supply yourselves with shelter, water, fire, food. Learning how to depend on yourself is just the first step. The second is to start becoming a participant. Im a big believer in the Circle of Life. By actively participating you are no longer on the side lines being a bystander or worse a parasite, relying on others.

The ability to feed and fend for yourself is only one side of the coin. The other side is also learn how to nuture and grow things to replace what yourve taken not only from the environment but also from people. If you just take, its like being a locust and leaving nothing behind. Put back more than you take out. . By attempting to be self reliant and to do more for others than you do for yourself. This may be the way to find Freedom from Fear.
